Thanksgiving Musings on Black Friday

This IBd Life (2)

I scrapped my second post for this week (Black Friday) for a different kind of post. It will probably upset the algorithm, and not show up, but hey it’s my website and I’m in charge (kind of).

Its post Black Friday, but let’s be honest, I feel like the deals don’t stop from July until New Years. That’s Six months of us being bombarded with consumerism. Now it’s also sneakier, in the form of influencing, and hey I do it to. But reminding myself that I don’t need magna-tiles, and it is really not in the budget to buy a new vacuum.

I did buy myself a pair of slippers and wiped out the Target kids section. (NOT LINKED ON PURPOSE).

I decided to write the 5 things I’m thankful for, instead of 5 things to buy this Black Friday. I was too overwhelmed with everyone posting their Black Friday list, and trying to figure out if I actually need any of the stuff they where trying to sell me.

  1. My sleeping children. They are a delight when they are awake but getting them to sleep at night makes me breathe a sigh of relief. We made it through another day.
  2. My delicious Salad I just made and ate, it’s simple but I also love good food.
  3. My Starbucks.
  4. Having Family nearby, it’s the biggest gift for my kids.
  5. A workout I love. (Pure Barre I’m looking at you).

I know its a little weird list, and I’m sure ‘ll get judgement for the Starbucks line, but hey Its a simple way of telling myself I am worth a $7 drink some days.

What are you thankful for that might not be traditional?

If you really need a list of things, buy something for yourself.

Than you can be thankful for that new item.
